Bip Roberts hit over .400 against Maddux in 30+ AB
Shawn Green, Raul Mondesi, Jason Bay, Abraham Nunez, all had success. Tony his the highest with at least 100 PA against Maddux. Mickey Morandini is highest average with at least 100 AB against Maddux at .361 (.851 OPS)

That will get some looks on the Alabama board. Reminds me of when I got banned on Tiger Rant cause I lost a bet and had Alabama as a favorite team. Had a message about flamming the board.

It was Bonds that owned him.

Haven't watched much baseball since those days (obviously) never liked Maddux, especially with what Glavine revealed recently.

Bonds hit .265 against him

Bagwell has a higher OPS vs Maddux Javier Valentin and Vinny Castilla had higher slugging percentages.

Luis Gonzales really owned Maddux

I think this tells the story.

quote:

“You just can’t do it,” Maddux said. “Sometimes hitters can pick up differences in spin. They can identify pitchers if there are different release points or if a curveball starts with an upward hump as it leaves the pitcher’s hand. But if a pitcher can change speeds, every hitter is helpless, limited by human vision.

“Except for that fricker Tony Gwynn.”

Glavine told the story that Maddux used to wipe his arse with players shirts and put them back in their locker.

That would be punch to the face worthy.

But Bonds hit more home runs off of him than he did any other pitcher.

If I'm not again mistaken.

Wanna bet?

He hit 9 off Maddux and 9 off Smoltz which is tied for the most but he also had the most ABs against Maddux
