I think I've just got to stop solo queueing, or learn a character I can carry the team with.
Right now I'm consistently awesome with D VA (4 golds routinely), Mercy, and I'm in the process of learning Genji.

When I solo its always Soldier or Lucio. I can carry with those guys.
