Making me think I should go back with the originals. I want the vehicle to handle as well as possible, but comfort is a high priority too...its for the wife's car. If it were mine I'd want to maximize handling, but I doubt she would.

Based on your description, it doesn't sound like your wife would be doing the type of driving which would benefit from a Z rated tire. I would go with the smoother ride and longer mileage. You'll still get great handling and performance.
