There was indeed a bar called Faps. I was thinking that it was across the street near the train track in a place that's had 40 names.

Fred's has been around since at least '84,maybe a year or two before. Could have been Faps.

Best story I have from that era was about 5 miles down the road. Right at the Parish line was a place called "Ruth & Jim's Country Place." Even had ads in the Reveille about "pizza,sandwiches,etc." What it really was,was a strip joint which were all over that area about that time.

Drove by there one day and the sign said "Ruth & --- Country Place." Asked what the heck that sign was about. Ruth had caught Jim messing around with one of the dancers and shot him in the rear and sent him backing. There aren't even cement blocks left from that place now.
