Let's face it, there aren't many US military installations that are located in places that most people would like to reside. In fact, most are located in some fairly undesirable places.

If you want sweet duty stations, join the Coast Guard. Some primo locations, and almost all in the US.

Never stationed there but been through a hundred times. Was lucky enough to pick my orders and spent my entire Naval career in San Diego Miramar. Back in the f-14 days, before it became a marine base. Fighter Town USA.. Felix Rules..IYAOYAS

What about Navy bases? Aren't most of them in desirable areas? Friend of mine is a navy nurse in navy reserves.....goes to San Diego once a month for her navy commitment.
