It might have something to do with him having an affair with the President of AU's daughter while coach at AU also. No source there, but it was pretty common knowledge around here at the time, just never publicly stated.

It was Lowder's daughter not the president of the university. That guy is the man that $$$$$$$$$ controls AU football for those that are not aware.
