I mean seriously, WTF?

He was in a warzone serving for the US military and lost his life. He was obviously more than willing to give up his life for this country considering the fact that he was there in the first place.

The fact that he was shot by an M16 instead of an AK47 has no bearing on whether or not he gave his life for this country.

When soldiers are killed in training exercises or other accidents they gave their life for this country too. Anyone who feels the need to distinguish based on how someone died or take anything away from Tillman's death is pathetic.

Pat Tillman himself said that the war was bullshite and illegal and not worth fighting for, and that he would have never signed up knowing then what he knew now. The fact that the department of defense all the way up to the president of United States twisted the circumstances of his death knowingly and used his "heroic death" as a recruiting tool to trick other young Americans into volunteering for the bullshite war made it beyond reprehensible.

They also tried to turn his nationally televised funeral into some revivalist Christian ceremony and lied to the Tillman family (most all atheists) and used it for more recruiting and propaganda.
