Asking what? I mean he's not terrible but he's not head and shoulder above everybody else. I just didn't wanna hurt the kid and have him quit baseball when he's 13 or 14 because he's already had Tommy john. It wouldn't sit well with me.

You seem like you know the answer to your original question already. Medically, it's not a good idea. The world's most notable orthopedic surgeon suggests waiting until AT LEAST 14. That should be good enough for little Johnny and his dumb arse parents.
