I think that there would be a varying circumstances.
With a kid, I'd likely not turn them in for something like petty shoplifting and just deal out the discipline myself. But if it was something remotely serious, I'm not against turning them in. Definitely murder or rape or something. But the level of crime I'm sure reaches a point where it's difficult. Say your kid is up for the death penalty for what they did, got to be hard to turn your kid in knowing there's a good chance they die because of it. But I also couldn't live with myself knowing I aided a murderer, even if it is my own kid.
With my wife, you may have to make sure that I'm not just trying to frame her. There are days I wish I had the power to get her locked in a cage.
