I married a Gump. My wife will try anything.

It's a challenge when the in laws are in town.

My sister in law from Shreveport is like that.Refuses to even try anything ... mainly wants to eat at chains.

One time she and my brother were visiting us in Baton Rouge and he wanted Vietnamese. We were headed to Little Saigon even though she had made it clear she wanted no part of it. I politely told her that was tough, because the other 5 people in the party (KIDS included) wanted Little Saigon, and we weren't going to all change our plans just for her. I assured her there were pedestrian items on the menu and I'd guide her through.

After we got in our cars, she made my brother's life a living hell until he called me and said he changed his mind and wanted to go to Applebee's. Then we get there and she gets out trying to appease the Wife and I, telling us "isn't this good? There's something for everyone here to eat!"

I looked her dead in the face, and told her no, there was nothing for me in that sh!thole, and that she was the only one who wanted to eat there and it was pretty fekkin' inconsiderate. Never went to eat with her again. Will not. Ever.
