Porsche´s Macan is everything the Q5 wants to be, but in the big boy class, bang for your buck this year (although still pricey in my opinion) is the XC90.
You and I have already had this conversation, it´s superior to the Cayenne and the Q7.

The XC90 inscription package does look cool, but when they first came out, they were having some problems. That vehicle went the longest in history without a production change. I think like 13 years. It has some unique characteristics, but the Swedish make the infotainment a little complicated. If your budget is above 100k, it will be a little underwhelming.

I think luxury SUVs are for fat/old people. Get a sports sedan until you can't bend down to get in one.
I LOVE over engineered vehicles, so I can understand why, I just can't get all the way there yet. I'm way more 911 than I am Range Rover, but a two door won't work for me. An over engineered German sedan is where it'll be for me until I can afford to have a bucket seat.
I drive a manual truck, so yea.

Holy crap that is funny. The XC90 is the worst vehicle I've ever owned by far. It is no where near being in the same class as a Cayenne or Q7. Not even close. By a long shot.
The Cayenne is a very nice vehicle, but vastly underpowered - far too slow for the price. If you can afford a Cayenne S, then it's the one to get. If not, I'd go Q7 over standard Cayenne. The Macan (and especially Macan Turbo) are hella-fast, but it's pretty small.
