Kid woke up at 3 am screaming bloody murder, not the normal scream, the "holy shite something is really fricking wrong" scream, we run in her room and she is flopping all over her bed and screaming that ants are eating her. Of course, no ants were on her or anywhere but it took a good 10 minutes for us to convince her that no ants were on her.

That was the most real fear I've seen in a long time. She was convinced that ants were crawling all over her. Hearing your kid scream like that is fricking terrifying.

Ugh. Kinda hard to go back to sleep after that as well.

Sounds like it may be be a trend.. You two didn't get together and burn a janitor to death after he escaped justice, did you?

I'm 46 now and still start to tear up when I think about mine from practically 40 years ago.

Formication is the technical term. Great grandma had it in the old folks home. Not pretty.

Subtle brag that your house has multiple rooms.

My now 7 year old daughter went through this. There are several good long threads about dealing with it if you search.

Bottom line is, there is really nothing you can do but be patient. It broke my heart seeing her so scared and distressed night after night but after several months they eventually stopped. The only thing we found that we believe helped a little was a night light. But even that may have just been coincidence. We tried everything, eating earlier/eating later, earlier bed time/later bedtime, no sugar, no tv....ect...ect....in the end it just took time

It's not a reoccurring thing with the insects (yet). She has had night terrors before, always when she is running fever, like last night.

Just last night was the most intense.

Would break my heart too. I can't imagine my daughter being that terrified.

With everything that went on in the early 2000s, I had a dream that some priest was trying to sodomize me. Scariest shite ever

My 2.5 year old woke up a couple weeks ago crying saying he had ants in his boogers. Wasn't as bad as what you're describing, but still kind of odd.

I didn't start having these until my 20s and still have them occasionally (maybe twice per year). Seen everything from spiders, snakes, rats, freaggin pit bulls, you name it, but it only takes me 10-15 seconds to snap out of it. Wife has them sometimes too.

I had them really bad as a kid. I rarely have them anymore, but I will still have them about once a year or so. They suck.

My parents tell horror stories about the ones I had as a child.

Pray over her. Protect your daughter. Spiritual warfare is real. Have a blessed day
