I wonder how much interest the Jets have in Paxton Lynch.

the Saints started off in 1967 trading Bill Curry, a solid center, 1969 7th, 1967 3rd, and the #1 overall pick (Bubba Smith) for the Colts backup to Unitas, Gary Cuozzo who had started 3 games and threw 208 passes total. He couldn't even beat out Billy Kilmer for the job.

The Grayson pick puzzles me for a couple of reasons, mainly being that I just assumed that was Sean's pick all the way. He's the QB guru--I assumed he saw something special in him and had to have him at that price. I figured Loomis and Ireland have to cater to Sean in the early rounds. Fair enough. But I also think he really thought he was gonna bounce after last season. It looked at times like he was kinda phoning it in during and with all the talk after the season, it was pretty clear he was seriously entertaining leaving. I have no doubt that if the right fit had come along after the season, he would have bounced.

So, why take a flyer on a project QB in the 3rd if he knew there was a chance good chance he might not be there to groom him? In hindsight, that pick now looks like it was made by someone who had a more long-term plan for the organization. I don't know. Still baffled.
