Yes, I could. Maybe I would have to share a spot with a roommate, but to say you can't live in the Bay Area without making six figures, you are wrong. I lived in the South Bay for over two decades, and I lived there comfortably on less than 40k. My sister lives in the Haight, and works for a startup that pays her well. She lives with a couple roommates, but she doesn't make anything near 100 grand. If you are raising kids, then yeah, cost of living really becomes a hurdle. There are plenty of Mexicans working at McDonald's that live in the Outer Sunset.
