That's exactly what I'm saying. This team is not young. The fielders are inexperienced in SEC. But people act like they've never played ball before. Does Romero look like he's an inexperienced freshman?

When guys get to the majors their first year they are rookies. They've played baseball probably for 15 years, but they are relatively inexperienced compared to the guys they are playing against.

If you put a bunch of rookies on a MLB team you are going to struggle at first, but hopefully improve as time goes on.

The same thing applies to D1 baseball. experience is a plus even for JC kids. It is even more important for true freshman who not only have to face pitchers every time up that were better than 95% of the pitchers they faced in HS, but they aren't physically as strong as they need to be.

We started 8 new guys in the line up on opening night, and have been juggling things ever since trying to find the best combination.

It's mid season, we've played 30% of our SEC schedule and we have a home stand starting tonight.
If this team is going to improve from a sub 500 SEC team and if they are going to start playing better baseball its time to do it.

And Romero looks like an inexperienced JC player who didn't start playing catcher until his senior year of HS. Last year he only hit 6 homers and batted 321. The year before he hit 345 with 3 homers. The guy is just busting out really. It's not like he was busting down the fences at LSU E.
