LSU basketball isn't nearly bad enough to be considered for this

How so? We are constantly at best a middle of the pack team in a very weak basketball conference that has 4 final four appearances in school history. When compared to how elite both of our other programs are, then we should easily be considered.

That's still nowhere close to Northwestern (ZERO NCAA APPEARANCES EVER), Nebraska (7 NCAA tournament appearances, never won a game), or Rutgers (6 tournament appearances, none since 1991)

Because there are other programs that are consistently bottom of the pack. Indiana basketball and Nebraska football are plenty elite historically and their respective football and basketball programs are terrible, much worse than LSU is at basketball

If you're going to argue LSU for basketball, you can argue a whole bunch of "football schools" like Alabama, USC, Miami, FSU, etc. LSU's basketball program is a lot better historically than you are giving it credit for

The question wasn't necessarily asking for the least accomplished teams, but I guess the least consistently memorable ones if that makes sense. Even though less accomplished teams usually correlate to less memorable programs.

For example, Georgetown basketball is in a lull right now, and I dont hear much from them, but I wouldn't place them in this category because they were consistently successful in the not to distant past and are full of prestige and notable alumni.
