I wonder if he'll get pressed on it at a news conference....if more steam picks up.

I've got to agree with a post above, when Petey C. leaves SoCal, JDR will be the first name mentioned...especially if he's dominating the SEC at the time.

Jack is using this as a bargaining chip on an extension and a raise. He has been one of the lowest paid coaches in the NFL.

Coming into the season, he was on the hot seat. He made the controversial decision of cutting Leftwich and going with Garrard, and it has paid off. Koetter and Mike Shula QB coach have done wonders with Garrards improved mechanics. Garrard is the only QB in the NFL without a pick in 2007.

The right guy is in Jax...he is just the OC.

Rocket, I am with you. I like JDR as the #1 guy on the board. We can make up the recruiting next year if it comes down to it. I like what he would bring to LSU. An intense hard nose defensive coach. I am aware of the Carl Smith issue, but I think that was a 1 year deal and JDR cut him loose after watching his act. I also agree with NO SABAN under any circumstance. I think he can attract recruits. All he needs to do is hire good assistants and coordinators. He has been around the coaching game long enough to make quality relationships with good candidates.

I liked him when he was a player. I liked him when he was an assistant coach with the Saints under Ditka. I was really struck by his charisma and style with his players during the HBO or NFL Network Training Camp Documentary that they did on the Jags before the 2006 season. He is a really quality guy that demands a lot from his players. I think we wait and get him.
