If you are going to spray a selective herbicide and want to save the lawn, use a mower with a bagger to capture the weed seed heads. Don't use river sand for any of your repairs. It usually has tons of weeds in it.

Burn your lawn off.... Call a company that does that. Your yard will be the greenest in your neighborhood in two weeks.
