I'm totally against weed and feed products. Kill the weeds first then feed your desirable grass. When my bermuda is 50 percent green in the spring I apply first round of a high nitrogen fertilizer. Make sure it gets a minimum of 1 inch of water a week, then fertilize again 6-8 weeks later. Make sure you water regularly in heat of the summer, a stressed lawn is more apt to develop weeds. Fall pre emergent of Barricade in mid October to prevent winter weeds the spring pre emergent of Demension in mid February to prevent crabgrass and other summer weeds.

I switched from Simazine to Specticle this past fall...man has it done a hell of a job. The ball fields are as clean through this winter as ever, and still holding strong. Simazine worked well for the poa, but allowed some swinecress and a few other weeds to pop up in late spring. The Specticle hasn't allowed shite to come up.

What would you reccomendations use on st aug?
My lawn looked worse than his 2 years ago, it's not bad today after using atrazine/weed free zone and spot treating
