fantastic idea! long bullshite schpeel...
LINK
you have to "pay a penalty of schollies... etc..." if you "contact another teams coach"
to paraphrase, basically what he's saying is "the ncaa needs to make rules to maintain bama's coaching staff."
i think this stems more from potentially losing major applewhite = possibly losing recurits etc... still, hilarious.
in related news, the main reason i hope lsu gets saban back is for the pure unadulturated hilarity of the situation. seriously though, that happens, it means if you're a cfb fan and not a fan of uat, you'll always have something to laugh about.

After all of that crap he ends with the above...what does it mean/have to do with anything?
Bammers are freakin crazy! I think he's trying to be cerebral. Missed it by a mile.

They are sweating it out over here. I don't care if Saban comes or not but it's funny to watch them have a meltdown coming up with reasons why Saban would never want to leave Tuscaloosa.

oh, dear god, i wish i could find the post on that board about this, but one of one of their posters biggest reasons why saban won't leave is that:
"when saban wins at bama, he gets all 100% of the credit."
as if when he was at other schools it was like the academy awards, and saban "would like to thank his mom, the school president, the academy and all of the fans out there!... you like me! you really like me!"

I don't want saban back, but it is fun to think about the bama mental meltdown if he left.
It's bad enough if Opie takes another job (remember, we warned them that assistant coaches never stay for long with Nicky) and recruits start changing their minds.

that's why i say hire saban just to watch the meltdown...then terminate him a few days later.

that thread sums up alabama fans in a nutshell.the author writes the thread under the premise that college footbal was once an innocent game played by amateur athletes.this ignores his own school's history (the bear) of literally going to other campuses and "stealing" players who were already enrolled at a different school.it also ignores the bear's notorious tactic of paying highschool athletes to attend alabama or simply stockpiling players(who were never used) just to keep them from playing for another school.ncaa rules relative scholarship restrictions, providing athletes with pay/benefits to attend and losing a year of eligibility following a transfer were invented because of the practices of schools like alabama.
finally, the author then proposes that the ncaa enact a rule to protect against "tampering" with a coach under contract.again, this presumes that alabama would follow such a rule and ignores the school's history(both past and recent) of failing to abidfe by the current ncaa rules .they never cease to amaze me.

Under this idiots plan, I wonder how many scholarships Bumma would have lost last year with all the "tampering" it did with other school's coaches -- only to be turned down time after time!!!
