For all the people that say it's a waste I say each scenario is different.

I consider ours one of the best investments we have made since moving to our farm 10 years ago. We are rural and at the end of an electrical run, we loose power pretty regularly. With the flooding last weekend we used ours for 46.3 hours it was very nice to have A/C, water (runs the well) and everything else.

Also for me I have 5 deep freezers with Beef, Seafood, Wild Game. Having the generator and a big storm gives me the piece of mind I won't have to do dump 5 deep freezers full of rotten shite in the back pasture after a storm (katrina we were without power for 30 days).

My generator could crap out tomorrow and I would still consider it an excellent purchase so far.

Yep, and be ready to be the house everybody flocks to after a big storm.
