How exactly is it evil?
How is imprisoning people in a camp where many lose eyes and limbs and who knows what else....while being starved...for petty theft....evil? Are you fricking serious?

Perception is reality. What you say is petty may not be petty to them. He's not a child, he's a grown man that broke the law in a foreign country that has severe punishments. He knew this and decided to steal something anyway. I'm not saying their punishments are right. It's pretty obvious they are wrong. But what makes him special?

Chances are highly likely this kid didn't actually steAL anything. The fact that they make him read a prepared statement claiming he was paid by the US government and some American church to steal the sign is all the proof you need. Why we don't just mow that entire shut hole down to the ground I don't know.
