Best advice is to take your time and do your research. It's hard looking at an empty tank for a few weeks but follow the advice of others.

Keep us updated, I'm interested to see how it looks in the future.

so since we're on the subject does anyone have a 20 long or a skimmer they want to get rid of?

also, any reason the stand below might not hold a 55gal 48x18 tank?

I've been curing this rock for a year in a bin with saltwater flowing over it.

I purchased everything from a guy on Craigslist. He took the system down and had it in his storage shed. The live rock was killed but I cured it and plan on re seeding it.

This ain't my first rodeo with saltwater tanks. At one time I had 5 tanks setup at once in my home. Even had a leopard shark in a 300 gallon tank.
It's just been almost 20 years and I'm sure technology has changed and wanted to get people's opinions about what to do with this system.
It has a 20 gallon acrylic sump underneath it. Has bio balls. Not sure if these things are still the way to go in a sump filter or if something better has come along.
