There's a connotation but it isn't hard and fast. If I'm painting it by numbers I'd have it smooth with a little landing strip (especially if the color tickles my fancy), but a real man doesn't mind a jungle trek now and again.

Yup. One thing I've learned is that the sexual chemistry between two people is probably the biggest indicator of how well the relationship is going.

Striving to make your partner feel incredible, in a mutual desire formed from genuine attraction, is a damn good bellwether.

Plus it makes every other aspect a lot easier to deal with. People are willing to overlook a LOT of things if they've just had a mind-rocking orgasm.
