The game has been on Steam's top seller list since it released last week, although I honestly wouldn't have taken note of it if I hadn't seen 20,000+ people on Twitch playing it over this past weekend.
It's an RPG / simulator / crafting type game, and could most aptly be compared to Harvest Moon 64, although there are definitely elements from Minecraft and Terraria present. It sports pixel art aesthetics, although some of the art reminds me a bit of Golden Sun.
It currently has an 87 on Metacritic and over 98% of the reviews on Steam are positive.
Steam page.

I've been watching a youtuber's let's play of it and I have really enjoyed it. Not a game I'll spend money on but it reminds me a lot of games I played growing up

WTF is going on at the 47 second mark of the steam video?

This game is like Minecraft, Terraria, Animal Crossing, and Harvest Moon's dirty wet orgy baby.

Ive put in around 15 hours. Great game, love it a lot, will put in a great deal of more time. That said; people keep saying its a cross of games. It's not. It's almost a carbon copy of Harvest Moon on the SNES. Which I couldn't be happier about.

It's Harvest Moon with a tiny bit of Rune Factory (the cave enemies) thrown in. Harvest Moon is one of my favorite game series so I have been loving this game.

I think it's time for me to upgrade to 4K for this game.

It's it actually worth 15?
Do you like Harvest Moon games? If so, then absolutely.

Do you like simulations and true role-playing (I.e. You have a place in the community and interact with NPCs)? If so you will definitely get $15 worth out of it. If you complete one year you are probably going to push the $/hour to ~$.80/hour.
This is a niche game though and if you don't like that niche, then you would best served skipping it. I have accomplished a large chunk of the content coming up on the end of my first year, but there are still a lot of social interactions and things I haven't touched yet (cooking, specialty fishes, extra areas)

Got this game about a week ago. It's really is addicting as hell. Still in the 1st year but I'm in the Summer and blueberries made me a baller lol

Just about to hit year 3 but I just got a greenhouse and growing starfruit in it to sell wine until I replace it all with ancient fruit. I'm banking 59,000 every 7 days now.
There are still 3 parts of the map I haven't seen yet but im close to them
This is one reason I like it so much. The pacing is awesome. It's spread way out. By the time I finish year 3 I should have done everything the game has to offer. I've finished the community center and built and upgraded all barns and coops.. Made a distillery, caught all fish upgraded the house 3 times.. got married, competed the greenhouse..I even found and hatched a dinosaur egg
I still have to unlock all the villager hearts and have kids, and do the end game areas..
Yea..I have a problem
The game looks real simple and in a way it is but damn it's fun. You realize it's so deep once you scratch the surface
