I do think he should have some description of where the ball was hit, but even if not said right away, as soon as the play was finished the color guy should add who fielded it and describe how it was done.

I agree with you here. I've heard that a few times over the last couple of years. Just because the runner is moving on the pitch does not make the play a hit and run. Perhaps the runner was just trying to steal the bag on his own.

Now this is 100% where the color guy steps in and clears it up for the listeners. I did not hear this exchange with Blair, but I can tell you that if it was Hawthorne he would have argued with Hannagriff about the results or that the rule is dumb.

you are probably right

Look I will never expect a PBP guy to be 100% accurate and I won't hold it against them when they do make mistakes. The hate on here for JH and the Jack hunt call still blows my mind. I really think many of the ones who complain probably weren't even old enough to remember the play. I can tell you I was watching the game without the PBP and when the play happened I was so beside myself I didn't and still don't care how he messed that up...nobody thought that miracle was going to happen.
