Pardon me for another Saban thread

The idea kind of intrigues me.
It could happen because:
Even the most die hard Bammer knows Saban regrets having left LSU to chase glory and took the Bama job trying to get some of that feeling back.
It can't happen because:
Too many of the LSU powers that be felt comfortable enough after the Saban to Bama debacle to let loose with how they couldn't stand him but kept quiet because of what he was doing for the program.
Me?
I trashed Saban a good bit but at the same time felt kinda bad for him because he took the Bama job just trying to recapture the good old days he had with LSU.
Couples have been through messy, bitter divorces and gotten back together so I guess it is possible.
Is it a good idea? Who knows.
LSU needs stability in it's next hire. It is too good of a program to keep getting used as a stepping stone. Del Rio and Spurrier are being talked about alot besides Saban. Both would provide stability it seems.
Saban? Who the hell knows.
You'd have to know the guy's heart. If all of this stuff about him regretting the day he got on that Dolphins plane is true, he'd be here as long as we would have him.
But, would he just screw us over in a few years?
That is the question.
Mainly though, it would just be fun to watch the Bammer melt down.

And how much do we pay him AFTER we buy out his contract?

he will always regret leaving LSU. He could have been to LSU what Bryant is to Alabama. I honestly think if we offered him the job to come back he would take it. I just don't think we would offer it to him.

A meltdown of MONUMENTAL proportions. Leaving Bama to come back to LSU is a slap in the face (especially if he takes a pay cut to do so). It could devestate their program!

IT doesn't intrigue me in the least bit.
We need to move forward. He can stay at Bama.
