When I was playing a lot and playing competitively, my practice sessions usually broke down something like this:
- 45 to 50 minutes on the full swing (and a good chunk of this was on driving)
- 45 to 50 minutes on wedge game from 120 to 40 yards
- 60 minutes on greenside short game (pitching, chipping, bunker)
- 35 to 40 minutes putting
It was a pretty structured routine, and I'd adjust as necessary if one part of my game was slacking. Also, a big thing for me was knowing when to pull back and stop hitting balls if you're swing felt like crap.
