British are supposed to be a little smaller and be calmer overall. I think 'supposed to be' is the key phrase, I think you can have hyper and calm dogs from either line. I got my 12 week old fox red british lab from Huntsfield in Mississippi. So far, I would say she is pretty laid back. She is a puppy and plays hard, but she is pretty well mannered and not at all out of control.
