I'm planning a bachelor party in Breckenridge over Memorial Day weekend. I've never been there in the spring/summer, so I'm looking for any suggestions on what to do?

interested to see or hear your plans as I know someone who's getting married and talked about possibly going white water rafting for his bachelor party
share your info!

A basin may still be open for skiing
Rafting would be a good time

I went up there last summer for a bachelor party. We did some white water rafting, bike riding, played golf, and smoked weed.

Fly fishing, hiking, camping, mountain bike riding, check out some breweries, smoke some weed.

May is a little early for fishing there no?
One question to ask when you book a white water trip is how far of a drive will it be. There were some outfits that wanted us to take a two hour one way trip for a 90 minute boat ride.
ETA: also May is the end of what they call "muddy season" so expect it to be kinda slow

Thats a shitty time to go. Still snow everywhere, muddy.
Cant really hike, flows in the streams arent great yet.
I only go in July-August once everything dries up.

Fin always got the bachelor pawty hookups!!
What would you recommend if we are staying in the country? I think the bachelor wants to white water raft/mountains type layout...
Possibly 4th of July weekend( what I recommended, due to the last really good one I went on when we went out to Cabo during that time) Just think its easier since it falls on a Monday. Can travel back the Tuesday and people don't have to take off of work but only 1 day.

A Basin was open until the third week of June last year. That's a little bit early for prime rafting season unless the snowmelt is unusually early.
Kind of a weird time to go to Colorado honestly. I was up there from May-Sep last year. It rained/hailed/snowed on us every single day in May. Not saying that will happen again, but just my experience.
ETA: Most of the towns up there have stuff going on every weekend in June/July. Some sort of festival/concert. I would push it to later in the summer if at all possible.

Yea, honestly my vote was 4th of July, but unfortunately there were too many scheduling conflicts with the group.
It's nice that everything is cheaper, we'll just hope for the best when it comes to weather.

Breckenridge golf club. Yeah we just rented clubs. I forget the prices. Nice course though

We did Aspen twice last year. The airport is 5 minutes from town and the rafting is 15 minutes away. July is awesome and the crowds should be good. Lots of bars and women between aspen and snowmass.
As someone said check for music/beer/food festivals and plan around one of those.

It's the worst time because the snow run off muddies up the rivers. Best fishing is at the very start of spring and after the melt.
In other words, when the water is clear.

Not to mention all the shops, restaurants and bars close for the season in places like Aspen around this time of year.
OP runs the risk of having a bachelor party in a ghost town.
