It probably isn't a lot of work. You're just filling drinks and clearing empty plates. You don't get shite for tips, but there aren't a lot of steps of service.
A chain place like Applebee's is probably the worst. Non-tipping customers and a lot of work.

I waite tables there in the mid 90's. It did fricking suck. I stayed about 3 weeks. I was managing a restaurant in Atlanta (Cheyenne Grille) which prepped everything fresh every morning. It was a great steak restaurant.
Move back to BR, couldn't find a management position, so took a wait position at Applecheese on Airline & Old Hammond (bad location even back then). My first day there, I see the kitchen "prepping" for the day, opening cans, defrosting chicken, and opening bags of lettuce.
