Man, we are talking about a historically bad defense that couldn't stop the run, pressure the passer, or stop the pass. We were only reasonably competitive b/c we have a HOF quarterback who by the way, ain't getting any younger.
A defense with this many holes can't afford to take a chance on a first round pick that may not play or worse, may not recover.
I just don't follow the logic at all.
Now, if Dr. Andrews says he's gonna be fine by September, maybe you reconsider. Tearing an ACL and MCL is not a quick recovery.
