I support Coach Jones, and don't care if you laugh.
I want him, like every other LSU coach, to be successful every year, and then retire on his or her own terms. To me that is what is best for LSU.
That means you don't immediately fire the coach if they lose a game, or even have a season that is not as good as we all would like.
There are great coaches who have had down seasons. Merely because they had a down season doesn't mean they are not a great coach.
Keep your head up, Coach Jones, and continue to do your best.

I agree with you. The average LSU fan has the luxury of sitting on his sofa, wearing his wife-beater, scratching himself, popping open a beer, and making pronouncements on whether the coach should be fired, that vary from game to game (the coach is safe following a win; must be fired after a loss.)
Although I think Alleva is weak and I'd think HIS job status should be evaluated (based upon how the Miles' debacle was handled), he also must factor in a lot of things, and can't change his mind from game to game, as fans do.
As you say, who is going to do a better job? Personally, I want to see how the season plays out. Could this team win the SEC tournament and gain an automatic bid? I don't know ... but as a fan, I sure hope so. Otherwise, why be a fan?
The whole Ben Simmons thing is a no-win for LSU, and Johnny. If not for Johnny, Simmons wouldn't be here in the first place. But, he's here, and, obviously the team hasn't done as well as we would like. I think the expectations were ridiculous, but, LSU, and Johnny contributed to those expectations. This is a very young team, and, I don't think Jones has done a bad job. He obviously can recruit, and, frankly I'm not certain having Simmons for only one year, given that we aren't Kentucky with a roster full of one and doners, guaranteed, or should have guaranteed a wildly successful year on the court.

You support a coach who has one of the best players in America and LSU will barely finish above
.500... sheesh you're a goober.
