Van Poppel stuck around the majors for a few years.

Yankees took Brien Taylor 1st overall was can't miss and was supposed to be the next great lefty.

You could say Mark Prior, who also was the Yankees first pick once.

Man that is a GREAT answer.
He verbally, as a teenager, refused to play for the bArves bc he thought they would never win.. So the bArves in turn got this Larry Jones fella...
Yet van popple's jersey is still available to buy in the bArves clubhouse bc he briefly ended up on the team anyway... But no world series ring to show for it unlike that Larry kid
