Requiem for a Dream is just bleak. You realize midway through, "Oh, this is going to end horrible for everyone." And it does.

The scene in Casino I have trouble with is the guy getting his head put in a vise. That's much worse than what happens to Nicky and his brother. Those two dickbags had it coming.

Imagine being a sophomore in high school and watching it for the first time, then your mom walks in about 30 min thru and continues to watch the entire thing....
