Very funny. The guy knew he was in deep in the very beginning because his opponent wasn't even looking at the board. Then he starts getting in a pinch and tries to cheat. Very nice thanks for sharing.

Caught him cheating and still smoked him.

I think he was toying with him most of the game.

Good post.

To keep people from waffling all day. The tables are public. Winner stays on plays next up.

So there is a time limit between moves....i guess the limit is decided beforehand?

Time limit for the whole game.

That's why they hit the clock as fast as possible after a move. Takes the time off of them and puts it back towards the next guy.

Yeah, but I would be high fiving everybody around if I took a grandmaster that far.

If I was a chess grandmaster it seems like it would be enjoyable to hustle the guys on Canal Street in the evening.

Cool video. I saw it posted on reddit yesterday. That hustler straight up tried to steal that knight. GM's have the board memorized and know where all pieces are at all times. No way he was getting away with that. That said the hustler actually played him decently close considering.

It was a blitz game. The hustler is probably a pretty decent player, but it probably wouldn't have made it that many moves with a longer time control.
