That. Also, the awful 2-3 zone defense when Bama was nailing 3 pointers, leaving 2 timeouts on the table to end the game, and Tim Quarterman not remembering what basketball is.

It is far from that simple. Way more stuff went into it then just that. It really was just an overall bad performance. Yes, the free throws hurt but so did a lot of other stuff

They lost because of Johnny Jones who continues to coach softly. LSU has been inconsistent at the line all season. But Jones has yet to tell Simmons with 3 minutes left on the clock that you need to take over games and stop with the passing shite. I know you are a great team player and all, but your talent is head and shoulders above all. You need to become selfish late in games and carry us.

Not only is that not the only reason we lost, it isn't even the biggest reason we lost. To win that game, LSU would've needed to make 8 more free throws. That would mean going 28/35, or 80%. It is ridiculous to expect a basketball team at any level to make free throws at that rate.

Theoretically, this is true. But you make free throws earlier in the half and it's a completely different ball game. LSU has been terrible all year at the free throw line.

He does peej because Simmons is the type of player that needs to hear this otherwise he'll keep doing the same shite. He's to unselfish! If I'm on his team as a teammate I'm in his ear sayin burn these mofo's. Stop passin the damn ball and use your god given abilities that most wish they had.

I've never seen a guard dribble all the way through a 2-3 zone for a un contested layup...that was a first

Quatermann didn't give a dam what happened and putting in Elbert for stretches killed us. I've seen high schools execute a 2-3 zone better than us. When one player can drive from the top of the key and make an easy layup against a 2-3 zone multiple times there is a serious fricking problem. I could go on

When your entire team sucks at freethrows consistently, there is a coaching issue.

When you refuse to adjust your defensive scheme once the other team has figured out a successful strategy, it goes to coaching.

When players are sitting on the bench while others are allowed to play like crap and still log 30+ minutes, then the problem is coaching.

LSU lost because of coaching overall, and is only where they are (even winning games) based on talent and talent alone.

Inconsistency is a coaching issue, and LSU will struggle every year, no matter how talented, with Jones in charge. Simple as that.

If you are okay with wasting talent every year and underachieving, then Jones is the coach for you.

Avery Johnson worked those refs to turn a floor foul to a shooting foul. Johnny still doesn't know what happened.
