Could not agree more. LSU has never been a powerhouse bball school, and we're one of the lowest paid jobs in the SEC, but the fans are pissed because we are a bubble team. Auburn is paying Brucey nearly 3 million to be almost last in the SEC 2 years in a row with no end in sight.

In some level of fairness, AU from a talent standpoint was arguably worse than where LSU was talent-wise when Trent Johnson left, and that is a program that historically is unattractive to even some of the better in-state recruits. They did at least show signs that they are starting to care about basketball by upgrading their facilities and scooping up Pearl when he was available to coach again. I would be willing to be a bit more patient with them.

its also a fan base that deems an 8pm start too late to show up for, or its too cold out, etc. So maybe this is about the best we can hope for. If the fans make the sport a priority, maybe the AD will.
