The $500k should cover most of DC's salary for the year. Shrewd negotiating down on the Plains...

Steele, whose state pension will also increase by coming to Auburn, has a $500,000 buyout at LSU, which is expected to be split between himself and Auburn, according to the Baton Rouge Advocate.

ETA: Craig's salary will probably be above $500k so any dime above $500k is what LSU pays. We still come out way ahead. I'd like to thank the East Alabama Male College and our former coordinator of defense for bankrolling our new wide recievers coach who happens to be their old one.
Lesticales is going balls deep this year.

I wouldn't make that statement without knowing what Craig's salary will be at LSU. I think I read somewhere he was making 500k at Auburn and LSU offered him more than that.

Just from a numbers perspective Juluke will be making significantly less than what Frank was making and have to believe Cam's new contract isn't anywhere near 1.5 MM.

Edited my original based on your info. If we get the $400k out of Mario in college station that's $900k that can be used in the salary pool.

SDS got their data from coachingsearch.com and provides a direct link in that article.

Here's the write up from the advocate

quote:

Craig landed at Auburn after a three-year stint as receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Florida State, where he led the Seminoles to a pair of top-5 signing classes. Craig is familiar with Baton Rouge. The Pritchard, Alabama, native began his collegiate coaching career as an offensive graduate assistant at LSU in 2004, Nick Saban’s last season with the Tigers. Craig’s coaching stops also include the Miami Dolphins (2005), Tuskegee (2006-07) and South Alabama (2008-09). Craig makes $500,000 a year at Auburn, part of a contract that expires in June 2018, according to AL.com.

Frank Wilson was making like $616K per year here being a position coach and recruiting coordinator. I think Craig will be the recruiting coordinator along with the WR coach. And considering he made $500k per year at Auburn, I would guess that he would make at least $600K, probably a little north of that like Wilson was making here.

Yeah I agree. And although it won't be part of his title/job description, I think he will also be relied upon to help with the QB's and spread schemes on offense.

Austin Thomas will still play a significant role on the recruiting front.

Coach O may not want the Recruiting Coordinator job.

If he does, no doubt it is his.
