I agree with the ones saying LR>BR. I say that as someone who misses Louisiana and all that makes it unique etc.
Of course like any city of any size there are definite no go areas. West Little Rock is the booming area and very nice but getting crowded. Benton/Bryant, Maumelle, and Cabot are where you go to raise the family with good public schools. Little further to Conway/Greenbrier which is nice.
We lived in Sherwood (just north of NLR) and when had kids moved little further north to Cabot. Great schools and close enough. Probably depends where you will have to drive to work.

Thanks for the tips everyone, even though there are definitely some contrasting opinions here.
I'm 28 and not married (not single though), so I'd probably be looking at Little Rock itself rather than the neighboring suburbs. The Hillcrest area looks nicer than most of BR, as does Midtown (both look to have tree lined neighborhoods and a nice selection of houses). I just don't know if I'd get bored quickly, although I can't imagine it being much worse than BR in that regard (outside of LSU football games, which I could still travel back to a few times a year).
