Weren't the Casinos in BR and Nola supposed to fix the entire state's education woes? 20 years later, We now have about 20 casinos and our public education still sucks donkey dicks.

I made this comparison in another thread about this subject. It seems, as of now, 13 stoners disagree with us.

"Just get us the lottery and all of our troubles will be over." Then, a few years later, "Just legalize gambling, er, 'gaming,' and our troubles will be a thing of the past."

The world didn't end, if that's your concern. But I agree. What good could ever come from giving more freedom to adults? I'm a fan of big government like you. Big daddy government must protect me from myself.

Comparing this to education and gambling is probably a good one.

The reason why education never improved is because sure the money from gambling was "earmarked" for education, but our shite politicians just moved money currently being given to education elsewhere. This is the same thing they would do if pot was legalized.

Also, just like everything else with our great state, if you legalized it you would probably have to subsidize a large percentage of our entitlement class populations use of it as well.

All this being said it is absurd it's not legal.
