quote:

Lynn Swann retired at age 30 with 336 catches for 5,462 yads and 51 touchdowns. But Swann says that Calvin Johnson, who’s expected to retire at the age of 30 with 731 catches for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns, shouldn’t join him in the Hall of Fame.

The only statement this quote makes is how much the game has changed.

I'm getting sick and tired of people spouting yards and stats from this modern era and calling GOAT.

Do some damn research, educate yourself and learn.

Not everything is GOAT today - in fact, today's stats are the most questionable stats in the history of the NFL...half fraudulent.

...and NFL stats don't mean shite from 2004-2015 (Goodell made sure of that with Bill Polian.) This has been the flag football era and basketball on grass, can't touch QBs, can't touch receivers, can't tackle high or low.

What Swann did in his era was 10X more impressive. What Stabler did - and finally he got inducted.

The 1970's were the most difficult era BY FAR for offenses in the NFL.

Most top 25 defenses by stats - are all from the 1970's before the Mel Blount rule.

It amazes me how some people know jack shite about the history of the NFL - and yet want to talk about it on the internet...

Learn the rule changes in 1978 and 2004 and officiating bias protocol the last 5 years for offense only.

You're more than welcome to compare Swann to receivers in his own era. He still doesn't stack up.
