You're not far away. Wouldn't take much for a trip. The sad part, no matter what, it will never be as great as that first trip. I've driven the Ak Highway several times, and it will never be like the first.
Hope the OP makes an adventure out of it. Many folks are in such a hurry they don't enjoy the journey. Hope he takes his time and makes some memories.
