That, or we have and find that their music is crap in spite of their ability to play their instruments. Ability to play =/= Ability to write good songs.

For me, Coldplay is a hit or miss band. The first album was on point, the second was ok and the third was not very good. Viva was outstanding though, and I really thought they would finally be a good band.

Unfortunately the next few records were really bad.

As for the Superbowl performance, Bruno Mars (whose music I do not like but I do respect) was the only one worth a damn. The production was surprisingly bad for a SB show, Beyonce was a shitmutt spewing out garbage and Coldplay was bland. This was one of the worse SB shows in a long while.

What happened to Rihanna?

What was the point to the ad where she and Nantz meet on the field, and Colbert flips the coin?

Was she on Colbert? I thought she was going to be in the halftime show? Had hopes she might slut it up? Maybe a titty flies out?

Their first 4 albums were brilliant, including the underrated "X & Y". Viva La Vida was the best rock album of the millennium thus far - a true 10/10.

I agree that the three most recent albums are disappointments, although I did enjoy the low-key and thoughtful "Ghost Stories" which had the incredible two songs "Midnight" and "Magic". I've probably listed to "Midnight" more than any other song in my life - it's amazing.

I'm with you on this. I thought they had potential to be great, then they went full pop on their next couple albums. I was very disappointed.
