I've driven an LS3 equipped Camaro and it was one of my biggest complaints along with the lack of rear visibility. A pushrod motor (other than maybe the LS7 and NASCAR engines) with its single cam in block can't compare to the high RPM capabilities of a DOHC motor. Try revving a stock pushrod motor to 7800 RPMs and see what happens.

I used to watch the tach in Mark Martin's Jack Roush cars and be amazed that they'd run those bad boys up to 10 grand. (on the straights at Michigan)

This was done all day every day with the DZ302 in the '67—69 Z/28.
