10 years ago it was Kreuz in Lockhart.
But times have changed and while the famed halls off BBQ like Kreuz and Smitty's and City Market in Luling are good, they just aren't the best in the state anymore.
Franklin, La BBQ, Killen's, Pecan Lodge....all are probably putting out better BBQ than the old school joints.
I still enjoy a jalapeño link from Kreuz, but I'd rather enjoy a beef rib smoked by Ronnie Killen nowadays.

Heim BBQ in Fort Worth is cranking out incredible food.
Hashknife on the Chisolm in Peadenville, TX is Top 5 for me, as well.
