Plug an ethernet cable from the asa to one of the switch ports on the netgear. Do not put it in the internet port. From there disable dhcp in the netgear and setup the wifi. Shouldn't be too bad.

This is correct. Basically you don't need a router, you need a wireless access point. Doing the steps above will make the netgear an access point.

For some reason I didnt even have to disable DHCP. I connected an ethernet cable into a port on ASA, then into port 1 of Netgear unit and I am able to access wifi internet by my phone.
