The Grand Irony of Guitar Hero is that it introduced a young generation to a ton of older rock music they had never heard before, but at the same time, instead of fostering that new passion into learning how to play it for real, it caused them to just play the game. So, you have all of these kids who were exposed to rock music through guitar hero, but the game basically prevented many many kids from ever actually attempting to learn how to be real musicians and play that music on actual instruments.
