to me it looked like they just challenged the incompletion and I think they didn't see that amendola was down by contact. would've been a first down for the pats.

I know what you mean. If it would have been a catch, he would have been down by contact. There's no way they would have "won" even if they did win.

I get what you are saying..... Had they ruled it a catch, then he was down before he lost it, therefore it would have been 1st down Patriots

Not sure why people in this thread are acting like they don't know what you are talking about, but yeah, I agree, that could have bitten them in the arse. It was obviously incomplete, but that wasn't a very smart challenge.

didnt Denver chellenged that ball was incomplete? meaning that they thought it was a catch and then a "fumble"?

but actually his knee touched before the ball came all the way loose. they might've successfully challenged their way into a first down for the pats.
