Guitar Repair Question

I've got a custom martin guitar that I've been using to learn how to play. Over the years it has a few scratches (nothing too serious). Is it possible to have them professionally buffed out in the future?

If it's just in the clearcoat and/or the pickguard and not through to the wood, the answer is more than likely yes.

Scratches are just character. Don't worry about them.

They're not deep scratches. That's good to hear. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

This.
And won't buffing or adding more clear coat change the sound/resonance? If the OP is the caliber of player I am it won't matter, but if you're good at all, it may change the sound.

Willie Nelson never worried about a little wear on his Martin at least until the hole he wore in it got big enough to endanger the strength of the guitar top.
